Super important life lesson : when the going gets hard, you go harder!!. . Something I learnt from my guru and I value so much, especially right now. You may fall sick, have your period or even feel like you’re dying. But if you can get up and walk, you should get up and dance. Unless you have a broken leg/ body part, there’s nothing stopping you from practice. There was simply no excuse to skip class and I remember all times I have gotten scolded for using fever as an excuse 🙈 The memories came in handy today when I had to push myself despite feeling super weak and feverish. I did my Margam 1.5 times. Nritta alone once and full Margam once. And I’m not exaggerating when I say that I felt stronger than ever. And I might have just danced my ailments away! (It’s remotely possible that I’m just high on endorphins right now?) Sometimes it’s inevitable that you fall sick during performances but the show always go on. Most dancers would have experienced this so we know we are capable of pushing through.. It’s normal to make New Years resolutions (I’m guilty of it too) It’s good to set intentions, goals and want a fresh start on some things but at the same time, don’t set yourself up for disappointment. Have realistic goals. Or even plan to take a small step towards a larger goal. Most importantly, Enjoy the present and give it your best.. Know that we are human and sometimes things don’t go the way we want. So be kind to yourself.
